Our Mission
St. Patrick’s Nursing and Midwifery Training College exists to train and equip student nurses and midwives in the most effective, efficient and innovative manner to render quality nursing, maternal and child health care services, thereby contributing to the reduction of maternal and neonatal mortality to the barest minimum.

A world class training institution continuing Christ healing ministry in bringing healing and comfort to people by producing highly proficient nurses and midwives with good ethical and moral standards who are capable of ensuring good health and safe motherhood on high demand in the health care and delivery system.

History of SPNMTC
The Missionary Sisters of St. Louis established the St. Patrick Hospital in Maase, Offinso to continue the Healing Ministry of Christ. Seeing the need for laity professionals to assist in the delivery of healthcare, the Reverend Sisters decided to set up a health training school. Consequently, in 1966, they established the St. Patrick Midwifery Training School under the administration of Rev. Sr. Emerentia of Blessed Memory. The College has since undergone the leadership of the following principals successively: Sr. Amoah, Sr. Kwarteng, Mr. Boaselenu, Sr. Mensah, and Sr. Donkor. The current Principal is Sr. Dora Lumor
The school started with a Certificate Programme in Enrolled Nursing (EN). Later, the Qualified Registered Midwife (QRM) was added but it was phased out. With time, Enrolled Midwifery was also introduced. In 1983, the Enrolled Nursing subsequently phased out. The College continued to train people with middle school leaving certificate in only Enrolled Midwifery until 2006. In 2006 the Diploma Programme to train qualified Senior High School (SHS) graduates as professional Midwives was introduced. In 2014, the college received an approval to train Diploma Nurses as well. The first batch of Enrolled General Nursing students (DN1) completed in 2017 with 90%, then DN2 in 2018, and DN3 in 2019 with 100%. The College has sustained its excellent performance after the years.
